This sounds pretty normal to me.  A new kitten will exhaust himself by all the exploring he needs to do.  Just make sure you have checked around your house for dangerous things.  First, leave the lid on the toilet shut all the time.  Make sure any loose cords you have on window blinds are tucked up into the top of the blinds so he can’t get tangled and choke.  Go around the house and check things you would if you had a crawling baby around. Cleaning solutions and things like that should be locked away from kitty.  Electrical cords should be hidden or inserted into those tubes they have for such things.  Just try to look for common sense things that kitty might get into.  Congratulations on your new baby! One of the kitties I had in the US was the same way. She came home, had a look around, checked out her toys, stared at the other cats and then went to bed. I think it is a good sign that your kitten has made himself at home so quickly! Sounds normal to me.  They are like little kids – run and play and have lots of energy and then SUDDENLY they’re comatose!  My mother’s newest kitten even laid down for a nap at his water bowl. BTW, if you don’t want the kitten to sleep with you, you’d better establish a sleeping place for him right away.  They are creatures of habit just like we are, and once they’ve started sleeping with you, they will not want to sleep anywhere else. I’d never had kittens before I brought my current two home from the shelter.  One night during the first week I had this moment of panic because I thought that somehow inadvertantly I’d killed them!  I fed them dinner, they played a bit, and then they just sort of fell over in their tracks.  What could have happened!?  After a very scary moment I noticed that their little sides were going up and down.  They’d just fallen asleep!  *Whew!* Kittens don’t mess around.  When it’s time to do something, they do it!
